Alpha and Omega: The Real Before and After Distortion
Why Christ can be understood as the reality before fragmentation and the reality that remains after fragmentation collapses.
Abstract
This essay explores Revelation 22:13 as a claim about reality before fragmentation and reality after fragmentation collapses. Alignment Theory reads Alpha and Omega as a compressed statement about truth preceding distortion and outlasting distortion.
The Beginning And The End
To say that Christ is Alpha and Omega is not only to say first and last in a formal sense. It is also to say that truth precedes human overlays and remains after those overlays fail. The beginning is not generated by distortion. The end is not conquered by it.
This matters because modern life often feels as though layers of mediation have become more real than reality itself. Institutions, identities, markets, systems, and narratives can all acquire a temporary finality. Revelation challenges that. No human overlay becomes ultimate merely by becoming historically dominant.
Distortion Is Powerful But Not Foundational
Alignment Theory treats distortion as parasitic rather than original. It can scale. It can dominate. It can become historically consequential. But it is not foundational reality. That is why distortion is doomed to disclosure. What departs from real structure can survive for long periods, but not forever.
Alpha and Omega therefore supports one of the framework's deepest intuitions: judgment is often disclosure of what was always true beneath the layer of managed appearances. The end is not arbitrary. It is revelatory.
Re-Centering On What Remains
This also clarifies the framework's emphasis on re-centering. Salvation, repentance, and realignment are not the creation of an alternate reality. They are reordering toward what is finally true. Christ is not merely a moral example inside a neutral universe. He is the center that precedes and outlasts distortion.
That is why this passage belongs not only to eschatology but to the structure of the whole framework. It connects beginning, order, judgment, and renewal in one line.
